Credit Union Supports Fisher House

Hanscom FCU volunteers made their latest visit to Fisher House Boston recently, preparing a meal for families of veterans being treated in the Veterans Affairs Boston Healthcare System. Fisher House is a nonprofit program providing free lodging to the loved ones of veterans receiving care from VA facilities across the country. It has provided more than four million days of lodging since its inception in 1990, and now serves over 17,000 families per year. Located on the campus of the West Roxbury Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Fisher House Boston is a prominent Hanscom FCU charitable partner for both hands-on volunteer efforts and material support, including quarterly visits from credit union staff and members. On this occasion, Hanscom FCU was also grateful to be joined by Mary Ann B. Clancy,�Senior Vice President-General Counsel at the Massachusetts Credit Union League. "Helping Fisher House help these families is an honor weve quickly grown to appreciate," said Hanscom FCU Chairman of the Board Paul Marotta. "Its a good day when we can do anything� even as simple as making a meal that lets them focus on supporting the veterans they love and we admire." Hanscom Federal Credit Union, headquartered at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass., serves 53,975members across the country and overseas through 17 branches, over 100,000 service centers and surcharge-free ATMs, 24-hour telephone service and a web-based branch. The credit union holds over $1 billion in assets. Hanscom FCU offers members an array of products and services, including free checking and savings accounts, consumer loans and credit cards, investment and insurance services, and mortgages for primary, secondary, and investment properties.
