CaptureINVER GROVE HEIGHTS, Minn.Heartland President Kathy Harrington was challenged by a Heartland staff member to take the Ice Bucket Challenge and then challenged other Minnesota Credit Union Presidents to take the challenge too.

"Were always looking for ways to help others at Heartland. When I was challenged by one of my staff members I was happy to participate," said Harrington. "What a simple thing to do for such a great cause and a great opportunity to encourage others to get involved."

According to the ALS Association, the Ice Bucket challenge has received $31.5 million in donations as a result of the challenge to raise ALS awareness.

"Credit unions were built on the foundation of people helping people," said Harrington. "From serving our members to supporting awareness campaigns like this, we are focused on helping others each and every day."

In addition to Harringtons participation in the challenge Heartland proudly donated funds to the ALS Association.
