In order to apply for the scholarship, students were asked to write an essay or create a video about their Adventures in Community Involvement. Diamonds Scholarship Committee chose the winners based on the creativity, quality of presentation, and overall message of their submissions. Catherine Scoboria won the first place scholarship of $1,715. Scoboria is a graduate of Berks Catholic and will be attending Villanova University this fall. Three additional scholarship winners received $1,000 each. Ethan Werner graduated from Wilson High School and is currently attending West Chester University. Panfile was a dedicated Diamond Credit Union Board member as well an active community leader, volunteering for an extensive list of local organizations. Panfile was always especially concerned that young people had the tools they needed to continue their education and understood the importance of giving back to the community. The scholarship is named for him in hopes that his legacy of community involvement will be carried on by local students.
