Pottstown, PA - For the ninth consecutive year, Diamond Credit Union has made the American Cancer Society Relay For Life a fundraising focus. With the support of Diamonds members and the entire staff, management, and Board, the credit union raised $77,167 in 2014, contributing to a nine-year total of $566,070. The funds benefited the Pottstown and Berks County Relay For Life events.
In order to raise the funds, Diamond had a team participate at the Pottstown and Western Berks Relay Events. The team also held a variety of fundraising events,
including the Annual Charity Golf Invitational, Winners Choice Bingo, Wine More/Bark Less (Wine Tasting at Manatawny Creek Winery), Dance & Chance (Beef & Beer), many Hot Dog and Bake Sales, Jeans Days, Handmade Scarf Sales, and more. In addition to these events, with the Grand Opening of the Boyertown Branch, Diamond made a corporate pledge of $20 to the Boyertown Relay for each new checking account opened at that branch for the month of May.
"The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a cause that all of our employees rally behind. After eight years of Relay support, youd think we might start to lose our enthusiasm, but in 2014 we actually added several new aspects to our
support. For the first time, Diamond had two teamsone at the Pottstown Relay and one at the Western Berks Relay. It was also the first year that the credit union used a branch opening to generate more donations and it was the
first year that two of our Bark For Life participants were top 12 fundraisers, making their dogs models for the 2014 Pottstown Bark For Life Calendar," stated John Faust, President/CEO of Diamond Credit Union.
In 2014, Diamond was the Presenting Sponsor of the Berks County Relay For Life events, as well as a Corporate Sponsor for the Pottstown Relay For Life. Diamonds Hope takes pride in knowing that the American Cancer Society uses the money they raise to support local patients, help prevent cancer for future generations, and work to find a cure.
