nsbackpack3Grafton, ND - North Star Community Credit Union in Grafton ND is preparing for their Backpack Exchange that is set for August 14th from 11 am to 2 pm. Throughout the summer, the credit union invited the community to drop off their gently used backpacks. The credit union then cleaned them, and placed Pee Wee Penguin items, school supplies, and other goodies inside of them. On the scheduled day, children may come to the credit union to choose a "new" backpack for their school year. Backpacks can be expensive, and most children like a different one each year. This is a creative and fun way to recycle perfectly good backpacks and provide information to people in the community about credit unions at the same time. Nanci Gale-Wilson, Head Teller and Member Service Representativewho has been working on the project, says "we have had a great turnout of backpacks, and we are so excited for the exchange day!"
