CaptureFitchburg, MA Actress Karyn Parsons from "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" recently visited the Leominster Boys & Girls Club to share stories of African American achievements not found in history books. The visit was underwritten by a group of donors including IC Federal Credit Union, whose President & CEO, Tony Emerson, also Vice Chairman of the Boys & Girls Club, played an integral part in obtaining Parsons for this visit. "Bringing little known stories of African American history to children everywhere is the mission of Karyns Sweet Blackberry Foundation," said Emerson, "and we were proud and honored to bring her to the Boys & Girls Club of Leominster."
The foundation creates video stories, making learning fun, helping bring the characters to life for those achievements not documented by history books. "These stories deserve recognition," said Parsons, "and I am very humbled to be able to not only learn of these achievements, but bring them to life for our young ones as well."
