Credit Union Shred Event Safely Destroys 47,000 Pounds of Documents

Duluth, GA - �Georgia United Credit Union thanks our local community and partner company Iron Mountain for making our summer series of SHRED EVENTS a success!� Approximately 596 individuals safely and securely destroyed 47,000 pounds (or 23.5 tons) of personal documents during the week of June 9-14!
Iron Mountain shredding trucks visited different Georgia United locations during lunchtime to allow members to shred their personal and confidential documents free of charge. (Many individuals brought the maximum number of 5 boxes.) The week of Shred Events wrapped up with an Identity Protection and Shred Day on Saturday, June 14 at our Panola location - which included representatives from DeKalb County Police Department and Identity Theft 911!
