Credit Union Awards 10 Scholarships

MIDLAND, MICH., Dow Chemical Employees Credit Union has awarded 10 scholarships worth $1,500 each to local students through two scholarship programs.
DCECU awarded eight of the scholarships to members in good standing through the Dow Chemical Employees Credit Union Members Endowed Scholarship program, which is administered by the Midland Area Community Foundation. Additionally, two scholarships were awarded to family members of credit union employees through a separate scholarship fund.
The 2014 scholarship winners, their fields of study and their schools are:
- Riley Bell athletic training and pre-physical therapy at Saginaw Valley State University
- Chelsea Chritz comprehensive science and arts for teaching special education at Grand Valley State University
- Beccalynne Gray pre-medicine at Grand Valley State University
- Brandon Helm accounting at Delta College
- Madison Linton pre-law at the University of Chicago
- Brittanie Nicole Morse business management at Northwood University-Midland
- Rachel Nitz elementary and secondary education at Martin Luther College
- Nathaniel Lee Randall diesel and high performance automotive at the University of Northwestern Ohio
- Brigette Schulz computer engineering at Michigan State University
- Leslie Siegmund recreational therapy at Central Michigan University
