The challenge had three purposes: to give back to local students, educate youth about the credit union movement and to encourage greater engagement with DuGoods student members. "The class of 2014 certainly rose to our challenge." Marketing Communications Specialist Rebecca Prince said. "We received all kind of entries, videos, and even a rap! Our credit union has given scholarships to students in the community for many years, but we decided to try something new. We are really pleased with the response." Rapping to the tune of MC Hammers "Cant Touch This" is not the only way DuGoods student members can score scholarship money. Over the past year, the credit union has disbursed over $4,500 through their Scholarship Rewards program. Whenever students and their families choose to use a custom debit card, they can earn cash for college simply by signing for their purchase every time they shop. Reward points can be redeemed for tuition, books, and other academic needs.
