Credit Union Awards $6,000 in Scholarships

untitledCorinth, NY -Hudson River Community Credit Union (HRCCU) is pleased to announce the winners of its 2014 College and Making Life Better Scholarships. Each of the following student members will receive a $1,000 scholarship: Blake Basmajian, Corinth High School; Kimberly Hanchett, Queensbury High School; Paige Meacham, Homeschool; Ashlea Raemer, Tamarac High School; and Emily Tromblee, Corinth High School. Travis Scarincio of Glens Falls High School will receive the $1,000 Making Life Better Scholarship, HRCCUs community service-focused award. "Our youth members never fail to impress me," said Sue Commanda, HRCCU CEO. "I am so proud of the quality of our scholarship winners and applicants. Its a great opportunity for me to catch such an early glimpse of the leaders of tomorrow, today," she continued. The HRCCU College Scholarship Program began in 1994 to promote and foster the educational endeavors of the Credit Unions young adult member/owners. To date, 77 local students have benefitted from HRCCUs College Scholarship Program with awards totaling over $63,000.
