Credit Union Celebrates New Branch with Breakfast and Lunch for Members

TEXAS CITY, TEXAS -- On Thursday, May 29th, AMOCO Federal Credit Union and City of Nassau Bay hosted a joint ribbon cutting to celebrate the new branch and the new city hall building.�
All month long celebratory events took place to welcome the $3.8 million two-story building. Festivities commenced on Cinco de Mayo when the strumming of mariachi music echoed in the freshly painted halls. On move in day, AMOCO provided breakfast and lunch from Lunas Mexican Restaurant for the city employees to enjoy while being serenaded by Mariachi Tradici�n de Jalisco.

On May 15th, the city hall building was officially named the Don C. Matter Municipal Building in honor of former council member and mayor, Don Matter. Over 100 city officials, residents and neighboring businesses were present to witness the dedication ceremony.

The building will be occupied by administrative offices as well as the AMOCO micro-branch. The micro-branch, despite its name, is a full service branch and it made its debut on Thursday, May 29, 2014 right after the joint cutting ceremony. Shannon Curtis, Financial Service Officer (FSO), will be AMOCOs representative for the micro-branch.
