dowMIDLAND, MICH. Employees at Dow Chemical Employees Credit Union raised more than $375 for Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Huron Valley through their most recent "Jeans Day" fundraiser. For each of the one-day fundraisers, which occur throughout the year, participating credit union employees donate a minimum of $5, which entitles them to wear blue jeans, tennis shoes and logoed attire to work that day. Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Huron Valley operates the Ronald McDonald Houses of Ann Arbor. The houses provide temporary, inexpensive housing for families of children being treated at Ann Arbor hospitals. By staying at a Ronald McDonald House, parents can better communicate with their childs medical team and keep up with complicated treatment plans. They also can focus on the health of their child rather than day-to-day duties such as grocery shopping, cleaning or cooking meals. "Our staff truly believes in giving back to the community," said DCECU President/CEO Dennis Hanson. "Our fundraisers and volunteer events are completely driven by the passion of our employees. By supporting organizations that assist those who need it most, we know we are helping to make the world a better place." Already in 2014, the employees have raised nearly $1,200 for charitable and community organizations through regular Jeans Day fundraisers. In addition, staff members have organized and participated in volunteer events such as roadway cleanup projects and Habitat for Humanity builds. About Dow Chemical Employees Credit Union DCECU has more than $1.4 billion in assets and nearly 57,000 members. Not a member? Its easier than ever to join.
