Credit Union Awards Scholarships for Community Service

siouxfallsfcuscholarshipsSioux Falls, SD - Sioux Falls Federal Credit Union (SFFCU) has announced their 2014 Community Service Scholarship Award Winners, Ember Newman and Tristan Tupy. SFFCU awards two $1000 scholarships to eligible students who plan to attend, or are currently enrolled in, a post-high school educational institution and have demonstrated outstanding service to their community.� All entries were judged on a set of criteria to include financial need, academic achievement, service to the community, the letter of recommendation and the literary quality of the essay. "Ember and Tristan both emulate dedication to their community, passion to their beliefs and causes, as well as dedication to their studies.� There is no doubt in my mind that these two individuals will succeed in all of their future pursuits," stated Fran Sommerfeld, CEO/President of SFFCU.� "We are excited to award our 2014 Community Service Scholarships to both Ember and Tristan.� Good luck to you both." Ember Newman will be attending South Dakota State University and Tristan Tupy will be attending the University of South Dakota. Sioux Falls Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1934 and currently serves anyone who lives or works in Minnehaha, Lincoln, McCook and Turner counties of South Dakota. The not-for-profit cooperative has over 27,000 members with five Sioux Falls locations.
