Located at 594 River Street in Troy, the Urban Grow Center will allow CDCG to provide the community with on-site, year-round access to healthy food, nutrition education, job training for at-risk young adults, and space for food-based micro enterprisers. "We have supported Capital District Community Gardens for ten years, but we wanted to make an additional contribution this year because the Urban Grow Center will help to strengthen CDCGs ability to provide access to affordable, nutritious food in areas where there are physical or economic barriers," said Wendy Meola, Director of Marketing for Community Resource Federal Credit Union. CDCG has raised $1,560,000 of the $2.5 million required for the first phase of the Urban Grow Center development. The organization will relocate to the Urban Grow Center in the fall.
