Riverside, Calif. Eleven high school students from Riverside County were honored for outstanding academic achievement recently at the 9
thAnnual Riverside County Student Academic Awards Dinner, sponsored by AlturaCredit Union.
In all, 134 students from 51 Riverside County high schools were recognized for outstanding work both in and out of the classroom.� More than 500 people attended the event at the Riverside Convention Center. The top 11 students were named to the 2014All-County Academic Team.
Each public high school in the county selected from one to three students, based on GPAs, college entrance exam results, class rank and extracurricular activities. The average GPA for the 2014 All-County Academic Team is 4.69 and the average SAT score is 2325.
"Altura Credit Union has strong ties to the academic community in Riverside County," said Tina Covington, Altura vice president of Sales and Business Development. "We are especially proud to volunteer for and sponsor programs that encourage and recognize student achievement. These students are among the best our county has to offer and we are happy to be a part of their recognition."
