Bastrop, TX Graduating Seniors from Bastrop, Cedar Creek, Elgin and Smithville High School were awarded their 2013 B.E.S.T. Scholarship checks from Greater TEXAS Federal Credit Union (GTFCU) on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at their respective high school.
The scholarship recipients received $500 each to go towards furthering their education and their college tuition. The winning studentswere Emily Boujemaa, Bastrop High School; Joelle Foster, Cedar Creek High School, Jimmie Smith, Elgin High School; and Lorenzo Maldonado, Smithville High School.
Bastrop, Cedar Creek, Elgin and Smithville Seniors submitted applications at last years 2013 B.E.S.T. (Bastrop, Elgin, Smithville, Texas) College Night, underwritten and sponsored by GTFCU and held in Bastrop, Texas. The scholarship winners were chosen through a panel of judges and credit union representatives.
The 2014 B.E.S.T. College Night date has been set for Wednesday, September 24, 2014 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Bastrop High School Cafeteria.
