Credit Union Awards $2,750 in Scholarships to Students

huronareaedfculogoHuron, SD - Huron Area Education Federal Credit Union (HAEFCU) recently awarded a total of $2750 in scholarships to nine area students. Those �receiving scholarships for the upcoming school term are: Brandon Carda (S.D. School of Mines & Technology), Chantz Gogolin (Minnesota State Univ.), Kelsey Jo Henson (Dakota Wesleyan Univ.), Ryne Johnson (Lake Area Technical Institute), Michaela Metter (S.D. State Univ.), Brittany Rotert (S.D. State Univ.), Taylar Rotert (S.D. State Univ.), Danae Schaefers (St. Cloud State Univ.), and Kallie Stolt (Trinity Bible College). In addition to the student scholarships, two local teachers were awarded $200 each by HAEFCU. Sharla Mees, third grade teacher at Washington Elementary and Corrine Lovett, special education teacher at Hitchcock-Tulare Elementary, received their awards through the credit unions "Cash for the Classroom" program. The awards are to be used at their discretion to enhance the classroom learning experience of the students. HAEFCU is a financial institution serving school employees and their families of the Huron, James Valley Christian, Wolsey-Wessington, Woonsocket, and Hitchcock-Tulare school systems. The credit union offers a full range of financial services to its members and is located at 1855 Arizona Ave SW in Huron.
