Credit Union Donates Over 3,600 Children's Books

Hanscom FCU proudly contributed 3,607 books to the Massachusetts Credit Union Leagues statewide book drive, books now headed toward kids in shelters, hospitals and other non-profits throughout the state. Hanscom FCU, working once again with the Hanscom Air Force Base thrift shop, has now contributed to all 14 years of the MCULs best-known charitable event. Credit unions from throughout Massachusetts have combined to collect hundreds of thousands of books in that span, all distributed to children in need by the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless. "This is the 14th year our staff and members have risen to this occasion," said Hanscom FCU Chairman of the Board Paul Marotta. "They never fail to understand the power of a book in the hands of a child in difficult circumstances, and I couldnt be prouder of them for it." Hanscom Federal Credit Union, headquartered at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass., serves 52,877members across the country and overseas through 17 branches, over 100,000 service centers and surcharge-free ATMs, 24-hour telephone service and a web-based branch. The credit union holds over $1 billion in assets. Hanscom FCU offers members an array of products and services, including free checking and savings accounts, consumer loans and credit cards, investment and insurance services, and mortgages for primary, secondary, and investment properties.
