Credit Union Donates $10,000 to March of Dimes

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAEdwardsville, Illinois Scott Credit Union recently signed on with the March of Dimes to be the presenting sponsor for this years Metro East March for Babies walk and Bikers for Babies ride.

Scott Credit Union Chief Marketing Officer Adam Koishor presented a check for $10,000 to the March of Dimes Greater Missouri Chapter Senior Community Director Shannon Sims and March of Dimes State Director Susan Bushnell.

The check represented SCUs sponsorship of this years walk on Saturday, May 10 at the Gateway Grizzlies Ballpark and the ride on Saturday, July 26 that will start at Wild Country in Collinsville and end at the Hawg Pit in Grafton.

The March of Dimes mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality through research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies' lives. March of Dimes researchers, volunteers, educators, outreach workers and advocates work together to give all babies a fighting chance against the threats to their health, including prematurity, birth defects, low birth weight.

"We were excited about the opportunity to help the March of Dimes in their efforts," Koishor said. "It is our way of showing our support of the work March of Dimes does to help improve the health of babies."

"Credit unions are really about helping people and this is a perfect way for us to take that even a step further," he added.
