Credit Union Helps Stock Local Foodbanks

tccuSuperMarket Sweep Team   Minot, ND - Employees from Town and Country Credit Union took part in the Minot Young Professionals 5th Annual SuperMarket Sweep on Tuesday, April 29th at Marketplace Foods in Minot. Competing in the event were Michele Ross and Ashley Sundsbak from Town and Country Credit Union as well as employees from Food Management Inc, Hyatt House, First Western Bank &Trust and Ackerman-Estvold Engineering.� Each team was encouraged to raise funds prior to the event, Michele Ross and Ashley Sundsbak from the credit union raised more than $500 with the support of their fellow credit union employees. Each team competed in a live game show themed event, answering trivia questions about grocery products and prices. They then ran throughout the store in a timed scavenger hunt finding specific items. In total $4,240 worth of food and personal care items were distributed to the Minot Area Homeless Coalition, Salvation Army, Lord's Cupboard, Minot Housing Authority Food Pantry and Velva Food Pantry. Marketplace Foods and their vendors also donated an additional $300 in non-perishable food items. Over the past five years this event has donated more than $17,000 worth of food and personal care items to local food pantries. This was Town & Country Credit Union's second year as a participant.
