Credit Union Hosting Free Community Shred Day

unitedRENO, Nev. United Federal Credit Unions Double R Branch is hosting a free Community Shred Day in Reno on Thursday, May 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Members, non-Members, and businesses are invited to bring a maximum of four boxes of paper items to be shredded by Iron Mountain Inc. Items will be shredded on-site.

"We are offering this free shred event to protect individuals and businesses in the community from identity theft and corporate espionage by helping them safeguard and destroy documents with confidential information," stated United Federal Credit Union Assistant Branch Manager Mayte Castro. "If you dont shred, your reputation or business may be at risk."

"Cops and Burgers" will be grilling burgers at the event with officers from the Nevada Highway Patrol. Donations for burgers will benefit Special Olympics.

Partner vendors assisting with the event include Michaels Reno Powersports, Sams Club, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Consumer Fleet and Sales, and Sport Haus Inc.
