Credit Union Manager is Dedicated to Cultivating Young Professionals
April 17, 2014
FORT SMITH, Ark. United Federal Credit Unions Noel Sanger, Market Vice President in Fort Smith, Arkansas, was recently named "Boss of the Year 2013" by the Fort Smith Jaycees during the 75th anniversary of the groups Distinguished Awards ceremony. The award recognized Sangers dedication, leadership and service to the Fort Smith area. He was chosen "Boss of the Year 2013" from a candidate pool that included 20 Jaycees Active Member bosses.
"I really feel it is a team award for the Arkansas market and the Credit Union," said Sanger. "UFCU has provided me with the tools to inspire the team, be actively involved in the community and have a work-life balance. Without the team we have in place in our Arkansas market, the UFCU Strategic Leadership Team and my family, this award would not be possible."
UFCU Business Service Advisor Michael Day nominated Sanger for the award based on his efforts to be a team player, both at work and in the community.
"One of the major reasons I nominated Noel was because of his dedication to cultivating young professionals," stated Day. "He will give chances to young professionals that most others wouldnt because of his ability to see the potential someone offers. He has shown compassion and understanding for co-workers and is always there to help lend a hand or guide someone to be a better person."
Sangers accomplishments include: being a member of the Knights of Columbus, representing Arkansas in Washington D.C. at the Cornerstone League of Young Professional Advisors, serving as Treasurer of the First Tee of Fort Smith, presiding as Chair of Allocation and Volunteer Committee for United Way, being a Diamond Member of the Fort Smith Chamber of Commerce, volunteering as coach for The Fort Smith Express Soccer Club, and helping to set up childrens programs at Cook Elementary, Christ the King Elementary and Trinity Junior High.
"The Fort Smith community continually looks for ways to improve, assist each other and provide a future for generations to come. From downtown to Chaffee Crossing, we are always seeking ways to acquire new businesses and build a family-oriented city. As the Market Vice President, UFCU enables me to make decisions that make sense for our region. Fort Smith is my home and the people here are my family."
