Credit Union Awards $7,000 in Scholarships

untitledBismarck, ND - Capital Credit Union recently awarded a total of $7,000 in scholarships to seven high school seniors and current college students who have shown outstanding academic achievement and community involvement. This marks the 19th year of the scholarship awards program that was established to honor longtime director Howard J. Snortland and to recognize outstanding students who are also credit union members. Over the years, the credit union has awarded $79,500 in scholarship funds to 85 students. Scholarship recipients and their parents were honored at Capital Credit Unions annual meeting on March 28,2014.� Signe Snortland, Howard J. Snortlands daughter, was on hand to give out the scholarship certificates.� The scholarship recipients attending were:� Jenna Schaff, Christine Irwin, Kirsty Solberg and Sommer Wild.� Unable to attend were Jonathon Fishbeck, Jessica Keys and Hayley Hilfer.� Hilfer will accept her award at Capital Credit Unions Fargo CU Celebrate event on April 22, 2014.
