Dressed up for the nerd-themed Bowl for Kids Sake, a national fundraiser to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters, Community First CU employees leveraged the generosity of our employees, families and friends to raise a record $9,495 through pledges, casual days and lunch or dessert fundraisers. "Community First rocks," said Claire DuPont, director of marketing and development, BBBS of the Fox Valley Region. "To have a group like Community First able to fill a bowling alley by themselves is really awesome. Its really great community motivation as well to see a corporation thats taking on the challenge to help us in this way." "It was awesome our team had a fantastic time," said CFCUs Maria Hebert, whose team Girls Just Wanna Have Fun raised the most money. "It was nice to mingle with other departments and enjoy a fun activity together. The food and prizes were great and we were honored to raise money for such a great cause." Her teammate, Jena Seubert, used social media to raise almost $300 posting the Facebook-friendly link. "I put that on Facebook and kind of reached out to all my Facebook friends. Every time somebody donated I made a hoopla about it. Its definitely a great cause. It helps setup kids in a troubled situation with a cool adult figure to hang out with." "It was an amazing turnout by our employees and the proceeds go to a terrific cause," said CFCU senior executive Laurie Butz, who serves on the local BBBS board of directors. "Every dollar we raised is impacting the lives of these Little Brothers and Little Sisters who dont have the privileges that we experience every day. This will make a difference in the lives of children for a very long time." Community First Credit Union is a member-owned financial cooperative serving 107,900 member/owners in East Central and Northeastern Wisconsin. CFCU operates 20 full-service branches, eight non-traditional branches and has assets totaling $2 billion.
