Credit Union Offering School "Makeovers"

georgia     Duluth, GA - Georgia United Credit Union is excited to announce a new School program this spring&SCHOOL CRASHERS.�� If youre familiar with HGTV or DIY Network, you already know where we are heading&We are going to offer schools the opportunity to have a facility "makeover!"� In partnership with Star94, 11Alive and 790theZone, we are excited to bring our communities together to support local schools! Georgia Uniteds School Crashers program is one of our Educators Programs benefitting and involving local school systems, educators, parents and students.��� We will partner with local media to maximize exposure and create excitement to encourage our local schools to apply for Georgia Uniteds School Crasher makeovers. The Grand Prize winner will receive their specifically requested "school makeover" project, that will include community volunteers to complete, while "runners up" schools will receive mini grants for their own improvement projects. How it works:�
  • Nominations: Schools are encouraged to apply to win a "School Crasher" makeover project that will be funded by Georgia United and involve school and community volunteers.� Any elementary, middle or high school may apply as long as they are an accredited public or private school in the state of Georgia.� Nominations will be accepted from April 1 through and including April 30.
  • The online "School Crasher" nomination process takes place at www.georgiaunitedcu.org/schoolcrashers on a special landing page on our web site.� Applicants must complete the entire form, including a 250 word statement as to why their school deserves a makeover.� (Applications may also be accepted by mail to Georgia Uniteds Marketing Department prior to April 30.)
  • Our TOP Winner will be announced the week of May 19. First Prize is a school makeover and additional schools may win �mini-makeover grants.
  • The Winning School Crash Event will take place in late July, prior to schools re-opening for the 2014-15 school year. There will be opportunities for community members, employees, students and parents to join Georgia United employees to volunteer for School Crash events, so stay tuned and spread the word!
