Credit Union Raises Over $11,800 For Children in Need

CaptureIndianapolis, IN, March 2014 - Indiana Members Credit Union (IMCU), Central Indianas largest credit union, hosted their 6th annual "Bowl-A-Thon" employee fundraising event, at Expo Bowl in Indianapolis, located at 5261 Elmwood Avenue, on Sunday, February 16, 2014.� 400 bowlers attended the event, filling two flights of 80 lanes.� The event raised over $11,000 for the Indiana Members Foundation to help children in need in the communities IMCU serves.

Features of the day included over 200 door prizes and an award for "Best TEAM T-Shirt".� Each bowler that participated received two games and shoes. The Indiana Members Foundation was founded in 2010 by Indiana Members Credit Union employees and volunteers for the purpose of being a positive influence in the community, specifically providing school children in the Indianapolis area with the necessary essentials for learning and succeeding in their education. Mandy Emery, assistant vice president of community relations for IMCU and executive director of Indiana Members Foundation stated, "This event sold out for the 6th year in a row!� The generosity of our employees, their friends and families is truly amazing!� We were able to raise over $11,800 which is incredible and allows us (Indian Members Foundation) to help support the children in need in the communities in which IMCU serves.� Our 2014 fundraising goal for Indiana Members Foundation is to raise enough funds to provide 4,000 backpacks, filled with supplies, and 500 school uniforms, belts and shoes to school children in the Indianapolis area.� We also plan to fund four grants to local non-profits that serve the youth in our communities.� The grants will be funded up to $2,500 each through our Joan Wolfe Legacy Grant Program."
