CaptureOn February 21, 2014, Pottstown Middle School hosted the Pottstown School Districts Reading Olympics Competition. Todd Rothenberger, Sr. VP/Chief Marketing Officer; Andrea Sawchuk, Branch Manager; and Chip, the Diamond mascot, were on hand to cheer the children on. This is the ninth consecutive year that Diamond has sponsored Pottstowns involvement in the competition, providing team T-shirts and financial support to help purchase books and transportation to events. Children from all of the Pottstown Elementary Schools gathered at Pottstown Middle School for the Reading Olympics. The event is a rapid- recall question and answer competition that asks teams of students to answer questions pulled from 45 books. The event gets children excited about reading, teaches students about teamwork, and helps to improve reading comprehension. After the Pottstown competition, teams will move on to the Montgomery County Reading Olympics. The T-shirts Diamond provided to the Pottstown teams help them stand out from the crowd and promote team spirit during the competition. "Its great to see the kids so excited about reading. This is a wonderful program and the Pottstown School District does an excellent job organizing the event. Were happy to be a part of it," stated Todd Rothenberger, Sr. VP/Chief Marketing Officer of Diamond Credit Union.
