Credit Union Has Innovative Financial Literacy Outreach

untitledCorinth, NY - Hudson River Community Credit Union (HRCCU) was recently honored with an "Industrys Best" Diamond Award for its on-site financial education programs. HRCCU took home a 2014 Credit Union Association (CUNA) Diamond Award for its innovative financial literacy outreach in the community, including free on-site workshops for credit union members and the public on a variety of important financial topics. This prestigious award was administered by the CUNA Marketing and Business Development Council, a network comprised of over 1,100 credit union marketing and business development professionals. The competition attracts more than 1,200 entries and awards are given in each of 33 categories ranging from advertising to community events and beyond. In 2013, HRCCU forged a unique partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension offices in Saratoga, Warren, Washington, Rensselaer and Albany counties to provide on-site educational workshops at no cost to area businesses such as Finch Paper, Genpak and Washington County Employees. By the end of 2013, HRCCU had increased the number of its educational program offerings by 467%, workshops held by 1200% and registered participants by an outstanding 1214% over 2012.
