Credit Union Helps Provide Scholarships for College Students

united fcuST. JOSEPH, Mich. United Federal Credit Union donated a gift of $3,500 to the Lake Michigan College Winners Circle 24 Scholarship Benefit Auction on March 1. The theme of the auction was "British Invasion" and UFCU was a catalog sponsor. The auction raised more than $290,000, with proceeds used to provide scholarship support for Lake Michigan College students. "More and more students and families are having to keep a close eye on the rising cost of a college education, and Lake Michigan College has made it a goal to find ways to help make up the differences," stated Greg Koroch, Lake Michigan College Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Planning. "With outstanding community support and donations from community organizations like United Federal Credit Union, LMC is able to provide financial aid for students through our scholarships." "Keeping the college dream alive for local students benefits the entire region," said Gary Easterling, United Federal Credit Union President/CEO. "At United Federal Credit Union, we appreciate Lake Michigan Colleges dedication to delivering outstanding educational experiences and opportunities through excellent programs and services, and we recognize them as a partner in the betterment of our community."
