The Corvallis-based credit unions staff dedicated $17,000 out of their own pockets to show their support for the credit union industry with the knowledge that they were also making great things possible through an OSU Federal commitment for a dollar-for-dollar match to the Credit Union for Kids program. The staff of approximately 200 pledged the record amount to the Credit Union Legislative Action Council (CULAC) and OSU Federal sent the match to benefit the Credit Unions for Kids/Childrens Miracle Network programs at Doernbecher Childrens Hospital in Portland and Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene. In addition, OSU Federal was granted a match of $10,000 for a second consecutive year from one of their business partners. CO-OP Financial Services, out of Rancho Cucamonga, California, repeated the maximum grant out of their Miracle Match program that is dedicated to efforts for the Childrens Miracle Network. Last years CO-OP Financial Services/OSU Federal matches combined to donate $25,000 to the same hospitals. OSU Federal CEO Richard Hein said, "The Credit Unions for Kids effort actually started in the state of Oregon and spread nationwide. Our OSU Federal team has found a way to invest in the credit unions future and at the same time contribute to the future of kids. I couldnt be more proud of their generosity." CO-OP Financial Services Regional Vice President Nina Kopp said, "It was great to once again combine forces with OSU Federal and approve another Miracle Match grant. These grants have contributed millions of dollars to more than 70 Childrens Miracle Network hospitals." OSU Federals full selection of financial services is open to anyone who lives, works, or goes to school in Benton, Lincoln, Linn, Marion or Polk County. The member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative is a community leader throughout its five counties and currently serves a membership of more than 77,000.
