Credit Union Raises $17,000 for American Heart Association

MCU_SJU2014_3NEW YORK CITY, NY ��Municipal Credit Union (MCU) raised over $17,000 during the month of February for the American Heart Association in support of their "Go Red for Women" campaign, an initiative focused on raising awareness and supporting research towards eliminating heart disease in women.� MCU exceeded its corporate goal of raising $10,000 through member donations, staff contributions, and participation in a special "3 Points For Charity" promotion on St. Johns University Mens Basketball radio broadcasts. "It has been an honor for MCU to participate in the Go Red for Women campaign throughout the month of February," said MCU Chairman of the Board Mark S. Brantley, Esq.� "We are committed to the issues that matter most to our members, and heart disease is a serious and dangerous disease that affects people from all walks of life." Chairman Brantley, along with MCU Vice President of Business Development/Member Relations Corey Fernandes and MCU Vice President of Marketing Steve Kibitel, officially presented the donation to the American Heart Association during a timeout at the St. Johns basketball game on Sunday, March 2nd at Madison Square Garden. For 10 years, the American Heart Associations "Go Red for Women" initiative has raised more than $300 million to support awareness and research for heart disease among women, helping to save more than 627,000 lives by educating women on how to stay heart healthy and by successfully bridging gender-specific inequalities, ensuring women receive the same level of heart treatment as men.
