Credit Union Donates $1,000 to Camp for Kids
March 7, 2014
On Wednesday, December 4th, Hudson River Community Credit Union (HRCCU) presented a check in the amount of $ 1,000 to the Double H Ranch in Lake Luzerne, NY. The money will be used to support Pauls Body Shop, the ranchs on-site medical facility.
HRCCU raised the money through a number of fundraising efforts over the course of 2013, including: the sale of chocolate bunnies and stuffed animals, partial proceeds of tickets sold for its 2nd annual Fun Day and tickets to the Great Escape and from the sale of tickets to Enchanted Forest/Water Safari water park.
"HRCCU and The Double H share a strong commitment to the needs of children," says Sue Commanda, HRCCU CEO. "We are pleased to be able to provide support to help them carry out their important mission," she added.
The Double H Ranch, located in New Yorks Adirondack Park, is a demonstration of the commitment and generosity of philanthropist Charles R. Wood and actor Paul Newman. Since the Double H officially opened its doors on July 4, 1993, it has served over 20,000 children dealing with life-threatening illnesses from around the world. It was the second "Hole in the Wall Camp" in what has become a worldwide network of not-for-profit recreational and therapeutic experiences for children with serious illness.
Hudson River Community Credit Unions mission is to improve the well-being of members and their families by providing quality financial services with the best overall value.
HRCCU is a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned and governed by its members.
