Credit Union Awarding $4,000 in Scholarships

nuvisionHUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.� - NuVision Federal Credit Union today announced its annual 2014 NuVision Scholarship Program to support local students pursuing post-secondary education. The credit union has been providing scholarships since 2008 to help promote educational opportunities and career enrichment within the communities it serves. Last years 2013 NuVision Scholarship Program recipients included students from across Los Angeles and Orange counties, including Long Beach, Huntington Beach, La Habra, Orange, Alhambra, Lake Forest and Foothill Ranch. One (1) $1,000 and six (6) $500 scholarships will be awarded to students attending a four-year college or university (public or private), community college, or pursuing trade certification in a vocational or technical school. Eligibility requirements and application forms are available on the NuVision website, http://www.nuvisionfederal.org/. Tarman, Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations at NuVision Federal Credit Union. "Every year we are so inspired by the local students we meet through this program, and it is our privilege to help them in their journey toward becoming future leaders in our community." In addition to outlining their educational goals, every scholarship applicant is asked to explain what they believe young adults can do to become better savers, and what financial institutions should do to help them succeed. All applications and supporting materials will be accepted starting March 1, 2014 through May 16, 2014. The seven scholarship recipients will be recognized with their parents at a scholarship reception to be held on Tuesday, July 22 at 5:00 p.m. at NuVisions Huntington Beach branch and headquarters location.
