Credit Union Supports Citizens for Adequate Housing

metroMetro Credit Union, the largest state-chartered credit union in Massachusetts, presented a donation of $500 in new, warm blankets as well as a check for an additional $500 to Peabody-based Citizens for Adequate Housing. �The donation was made at Metro CUs branch at 68 Main Street in Peabody. �Branch employees also donated another $135 during the presentation.
Metro CUs Peabody branch manager Vanessa Silveiria presented the blankets and check to Corey Jackson, Executive Director of Citizens for Adequate Housing, which ends homelessness one family at a time by providing a dignified, nurturing, and supportive environment that empowers each family to reach its social and economic potential.
"Gifts like this one from Metro Credit Union represent so much more than the value of the donation," said Jackson. �"They symbolize renewed hope and a second chance for every family we serve."
Metro CU encourages the community to support organizations like Citizens for Adequate Housing, which works tirelessly to empower homeless families and create more success stories in the communities it serves. $100 supplies emergency diapers to a family in need.
$250 transports family members to medical appointments and job interviews.
$500 covers groceries for all of the families we serve.
$1,000 funds services and housing for one homeless family.
