Credit Union Shows Appreciation for Veterans with Valentines
February 27, 2014
Black Hills Federal Credit Union employees shared their love and showed their gratitude for area veterans on the quintessential holiday of affection Valentines Day.
In the three weeks leading up to February 14, employees created 1,000 valentines. The handcrafted cards, filled with messages of appreciation and honor, were distributed to residents at the VA Black Hills Heath Care System Fort Mead and Hot Springs, State Veterans Home, VA Clinic, and VFW Spearfish, as well as Eagle Butte Manor and Medicine Wheel Elderly Village.
The Valentines for Veterans project was carried out under the umbrella of BHFCUs Community Action Team (CAT), which is comprised of groups of employees who volunteer their time and energy to co-chair various fundraising endeavors. BHFCUs CAT embodies the credit union philosophy of "People Helping People." They are committed to improving the communities BHFCU serves and the lives of those who call the area home.
Established in 1941, BHFCU is a community-chartered credit union serving its member-owners from offices in Rapid City, Custer, Eagle Butte, Hot Springs, Pierre, Spearfish and Wall.
