Credit Union Members Donate $32,000 in Reward Points to Missions
February 27, 2014
Through the "Points for Missions" program, Christian Community Credit Union cardholders donated $32,000 in reward points to mission projects. The donations went to the Sydney Orphanage in Andhra Pradesh, India, Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF), and International Ministries (IM). Through a special matching program, the Credit Union made an additional donation to the Sydney Orphanage. The donation to the Sydney Orphanage will go towards the construction of an orphanage facility to accommodate 250 children who otherwise would become prime targets of human trafficking predators. The donation to MAF and IM will support its missionaries and mission projects.
Instead of members redeeming their points for travel or merchandise or letting them expire, Christian Community Credit Union credit and debit cardholders had the opportunity to give back to support ministry projects worldwide. To date, the "Points for Missions" program has resulted in over $137,000 in donations since it started four years ago. The program runs at the end of each year. "To see our cardholders donate their points for worthy causes truly shows their giving spirit and their heart to support the Lord's work around the world," said John Walling, Christian Community Credit Union President/CEO. "This is another way our 'Cards that Give to Missions' program lives out its uniqueness."
