Credit Union Helps Fellow Co-op Damaged by Fire

voyage Volunteers FinishedSioux Falls, SD - A little less than a month ago, an arsonist started a fire that destroyed the Co-op Natural Foods building in Sioux Falls, SD.� The cooperative has been in the community since 1973 and had moved to its location on 33rd�and Duluth in 2005.� Presently, the cooperative has over 1700 members and is still growing.� Voyage Federal Credit Unions Marketing Coordinator, Molly Brown, is a long time member of the co-op and had attended a previous fundraiser for the organization. Wanting to further assist a fellow cooperative, Voyage FCU offered to help with volunteers and cleaning supplies.� Last Saturday, a group of Voyage employees and community members met up to help clean and paint the Co-op's new temporary location at 410 W. 18th Street.� Voyage employees and friends brought supplies and assisted with getting the building ready for business, as well as donating $50 towards the cost of cleaning supplies. Voyage Federal Credit Unions CEO Darla Erb was on sight repairing drywall and prepping walls for primer.� "We have such an incredible community here in Sioux Falls and have really come together in supporting one of our local cooperatives" stated Erb.� She added "Natural Foods is making strides in our community, and it is good to see their comeback since the fire." The new location features natural light coming in from the east and south windows that run from floor to ceiling.� There is also ample and convenient parking all around.� A great variety of healthy products and local produce will soon be lining the rows at the new the location.
