Credit Union Awarding Scholarships for Community Service

sioux fallsSioux Falls,�SD -��Sioux Falls Federal Credit Union (SFFCU) is now accepting applications for their 2014 Community Service Scholarship Award Program.� SFFCU will award up to two $1000 scholarships to eligible students who plan to attend, or are currently enrolled in, a post-high school educational institution and have demonstrated outstanding service to their community. To apply, scholarship entrants must be a member of SFFCU in good standing, or meet the eligibility criteria and become a member prior to submitting the entry form.� Each entry must include a signed entry form, an essay describing the applicants community service activities in the past twelve months, and a letter of recommendation from an unrelated person who is familiar with the applicants community service activities. Applications are available online at siouxfallsfcu.org.� All entries must be submitted by April 18, 2014.� Recipients will be notified by May 9, 2014. All entries will be judged on a set of criteria to include financial need, academic achievement, service to the community, the letter of recommendation and literary quality of the essay. Sioux Falls Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1934 and currently serves anyone who lives or works in Minnehaha, Lincoln, McCook and Turner counties of South Dakota. The not-for-profit cooperative has over 27,000 members with five Sioux Falls locations.
