Eau Claire, WI In December, Royal Credit Union (RCU) dispersed $10.00 to twenty lucky Facebook fans on their Facebook page in hopes that each of those individuals would pay it forward. "The response was almost overwhelming, we werent exactly prepared for all the heartwarming, touching stories that came out of this" said Andrea Finn, RCUs Digital Marketing Specialist. "It was so inspirational to see what these twenty individuals were capable of.� Several of our Members doubled their $10.00, and hundreds took the time to make gracious comments through RCUs social media channels. I could feel our communities and the people within them come together. One Member reminded us that it takes all of us to do something like this, and that is what she specifically likes about RCU being so community-minded."
Mande K., one of RCUs pay it forward winners decided she would give her $10 to the next server when she ate out. She did even more than that. After paying her bill and leaving her usual tip, she left this note (pictured right) on the table with the $10 and added her own $10 so the server could pay it forward too! The server managed to catch Mande of the way out of the restaurant with tears in her eyes and said that no one had ever done that for her before. Mande said, "Thank you RCU for letting me bless someonethrough this I was blessed as well!"
Finn stated that RCU would definitely be creating a positive impact again this way in the near future. Through these twenty people so many lives were positively impacted by a small, but caring gesture. RCU Members from Centuria, Chippewa Falls, Colby, Eau Claire, Eleva, Frederic, Independence, New Richmond, Whitehall and Withee were positively touched.
