January 8, 2014
Latham, NY - Community Resource Federal Credit Unions employees presented the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society with a check for $4,600 on Monday, December 30, 2013 at the Credit Unions 20 Wade Road, Latham office. The employees raised the funds through events such as a bake sale, Haunted Asylum, donor card sale, calendar raffle, and Pet Photos with Santa.
"The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society does not receive government funding. So, donations like ours are very important because the shelter needs financial support from individuals and businesses in order to stay in business," said Wendy Meola, Director of Marketing at Community Resource Federal Credit Union.
Community Resources employees also held an annual bottle drive on May 18 during which 8,000 bottles were collected for the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. In 2013, the shelter raised $100,000 from bottle redemption.
