Credit Unions Donate Food to Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse

chow BINGHAMTON, NY -- The Southern Tier Credit Union Alliance donated 197 pounds of food to the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse (CHOW). The non-perishables and canned goods were collected at the Southern Tier chapters annual Holiday Dinner on December 9, 2013, where attendees were asked to bring an item to donate upon entry. The collection was presented to CHOW, which will distribute the food to families in Broome County during the holiday season. The Southern Tier Credit Union Alliance is comprised of Empower FCU, Horizons FCU, Sidney FCU, SEFCU, UHS Employees CU, and Visions FCU. CHOW feeds the hungry of Broome County through its network of over 30 food pantries and over 35 soup kitchens and community meal programs. CHOW distributes approximately two million pounds of food each year.
