Credit Union Shows Commitment to Community

hudsonriverSARATOGA SPRINGS, NY : As part of its ongoing commitment to the local community, on Monday, November 25th, Hudson River Community Credit Union (HRCCU) presented a check for $376.70 to the Shelters of Saratoga. HRCCU raised the money through a number of fundraising efforts over the course of 2013, including: the sale of chocolate bunnies and stuffed animals, partial proceeds of tickets sold for its 2nd Annual Fun Day and tickets to the Great Escape and from the sale of tickets to Enchanted Forest/Water Safari water park.

"The donation by Hudson River Community Credit Union will be used for basic shelter needs and to provide transportation and daycare for residents while they are searching for work," said Peter Whitten, Executive Director for Shelters of Saratoga. HRCCU supports numerous charitable, educational and community events and is dedicated to providing quality financial services to those in Warren, Washington, Saratoga and Rensselaer Counties along with the Towns of Cohoes, Watervliet and Green Island. Shelters of Saratoga provides a range of affordable housing opportunities, advocacy, referral services and informational resources, and strives to ensure that adults in the Greater Saratoga Region who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness, have safe and affordable housing.
