NAPERVILLE December 16, 2013 DuPage Credit Union recently collected 915 pounds of donated food items during its November Community Food Drive to benefit the Northern Illinois Food Bank.
During the drive, Credit Union Members, Team Members and other generous supporters donated staples such as peanut butter, pasta and canned fruits and vegetables at the Credit Unions Branch Offices or at participating Select Employee Group locations to help feed our hungry neighbors during the winter months.
"Were thrilled at the results," said Amy Brandt, Vice President of Business Solutions. "Through our communitys generosity the Credit Union was able to assist families in need, right here in our own backyard."
Donated food items were distributed through the Northern Illinois Food Bank to hundreds of shelters, soup kitchens and charitable organizations in DuPage and Kane counties as well as Boone, DeKalb, Grundy, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, Ogle, Stephenson, Will and Winnebago counties.
