olarity Credit Union to Deliver Check and Toy-Filled Wagon to Memorial Hospital
Yakima, Washington (December 16, 2013) On Tuesday, December 3, Solarity will deliver a $21,597 check to Memorial Hospital along with a toy-filled Radio Flyer Wagon.� The wagon will be used in the pediatric area of the hospital to move children in and out of the hospital, take the kids out of their rooms on field trips in the hospital, and help make going to treatment a little less traumatic.� Travelling in style around the hospitals corridors can offer sick children a fun diversion at a tough time.
Solarity Credit Union paid $7,000 for the wagon at a recent Northwest Credit Union Association Charity Auction benefiting Childrens Miracle Network Hospitals and Solarity CEO, Mina Worthington specifically designated it for delivery to the Pediatrics unit at Memorial, the local CMN hospital. The $21,597� check� delivery on December 3 will include the funds from the purchase along with other fundraising and donations provided by Credit Unions throughout Washington as part of the CMN commitment known across the nation as CUs4Kids.
Solarity and Memorial have a long history together.� Solarity has fundraised for many programs including North Star Lodge, Ohana Mammography Center and most recently the Childrens Village Expansion project.� All money raised for Memorial has been done through the generosity of its members and staff. The recent purchase of the wagon is another way Solarity found a way to give back to the community and Memorial.
