Credit Union Helps Provide Meals to Those in Need
December 12, 2013
At this time of year, many people are looking forward to sitting down to a holiday meal with their families. Sadly, regular hot meals are not always possible without outside assistance for some in the community.
One local organization that helps support families is Spooner House, a nonprofit organization in Shelton that is operated by Area Congregations Together.
Recently, Sikorsky Credit Union made a $500 donation to Spooner House in support of its programs.
Active throughout the Lower Naugatuck Valley for many years, Spooner House helps the community by providing shelter and food programs, and working to promote self-sufficiency.
Through its food bank, so far in 2013 Spooner House has provided more than 125,000 meals to those in need in the region.
