Credit Union Helps Students Get a Healthy Breakfast.
December 12, 2013
Copperfin Credit Union will be helping students get a healthy breakfast. Marketing manager Kayla Renaud talks about the reasons behind their choice of charity."We do a lot of donations to social causes and things like that. So, we thought helping students access a healthy meal on a regular basis is huge," she said Monday."There's a big need, I think, for it. Every school that I talk to -- when I let them know that they are receiving the donation -- was really thankful, really excited. I think it's a really good cause," she emphasized."Students want to go. They want to go. They want to learn. They're ready to be there. We wanted to contribute to that, because it's so important to the well-being of students in our communities," she added.Yesterday, the credit union announced they would be matching the staff donation of $5,000 thousand dollars. This means a total of $10,000 will go towards breakfast programs in 24 communities across the region.
