Credit Unions Unite to Raise $20,000 for Children's Hospital

UTICA Eleven local credit unions are working together to raise $20,000 for the Childrens Miracle Network at Faxton-St. Lukes Hospital.
The funds raised will be used to purchase a new Atom Advanced Incubator for the hospitals Level II Special Care Nursery.
"This project shows the cooperative spirit of credit unions," said Beth Park, marketing director at GPO Federal Credit Union and Utica-Rome Credit Union Chapter Council Member, in a news release. "Eleven credit unions working together to support a single fundraising effort for CMN & this project exemplifies the people helping people philosophy that is the backbone of the credit union movement."
Participating credit unions have been raising funds by sponsoring dress-down days, selling chocolate bars and bookmarks in their branch offices and collecting change from their credit union members. Some of the funds will be matched by CO-OP Financial Services Miracle Match program.
The participating credit unions include Utica Telephone Employees Federal Credit Union, Utica Gas and Electric Federal Credit Union, UMICO Federal Credit Union, Special Metals Federal Credit Union, Rome Teachers Federal Credit Union, Rome Federal Credit Union, Remington Federal Credit Union, Mohawk Valley Federal Credit Union, GPO Federal Credit Union, First Source Federal Credit Union and AmeriCU.
