AFB PartnersAbbotsford, B.C.Earlier this year, Envision Financial announced that Boston Pizza was coming on board as a community partner in support of The Full Cupboardan innovative community program designed to raise food, funds and awareness for local food banks. Throughout the summer, Boston Pizza staff were onsite at the Abbotsford Arts Councils Envision Concert in the Park series collecting donations and handing out coupons to concertgoers. They also hosted two pizza nights where concert goers who donated $2 to The Full Cupboard received a slice of fresh hot pizza. The Sumas and Clearbrook Boston Pizza locations also collected non-perishable food donations and in return, diners received a coupon to use during their next visit. Richard Petty and Robert Atsma of Boston Pizza share, "Boston Pizza has been feeding families since the very first restaurant opened in 1964. To this day we are still happily feeding friends, family, and neighbors. We understand that not everyone has the opportunity to have a meal at a restaurant. Thats why through the Abbotsford Art Councils Envision Concert in the Park Series, we will be partnering with Envision Financials Full Cupboard program to help provide the local food banks of Abbotsford with much needed supplies." In total, Boston Pizza raised $500 in donations and collected more than 200 pounds of food from the Sumas and Clearbrook locations, all of which was given to the Abbotsford Food Bank last week. The partnership has proven so successful that Boston Pizza is expanding its involvement with The Full Cupboard to include its Fleetwood and Walnut Grove locations. "Today I need to express my profound appreciation for Envision Financials The Full Cupboard program and their partnership with Boston Pizza," says Dave Murray, Food Bank Manager at the Abbotsford Food Bank. "Through the generosity of The Full Cupboard and Boston Pizza we are farther along in our challenge of feeding over 7000 people who use the food bank in our community. Thank you for your generosity and encouragement!" Launched earlier this year, The Full Cupboard is Envision Financials innovative new program designed to raise food, funds and awareness for local food banks.
