Credit Union Sponsors Annual Harvest Home Family Farm Festival

Community service is a part of Grafton Suburban Credit Union graftonGRAFTON MA� - On Nov. 3, 2013 the Community Harvest Project, Inc. held its 8th Annual Harvest Home Family Farm Festival at 37 Wheeler � Road, in North Grafton. The Festival offered a day of fun and festivities with approximately 1,000 people participating. A new addition to the Festival was the First Annual 5K Dash, which exceeded expectations with close to 200 runners and walkers. Grafton Suburban Credit Union (GSCU) has been a proud sponsor of this annual celebration for many years. Once again, its generous staff volunteered their time at this years Festival. They greeted visitors, collected entrance fees, and audited the proceeds taken in throughout the day. "It was great to see so many familiar faces and so many families having a great time for a great cause," said Stacy Riendeau, Volunteer Coordinator at GSCU. GSCU was recognized earlier in the year by the Community Harvest Project, Inc. and was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award in the adult category for its outstanding dedication to the non-profit. "Grafton Suburban Credit Union has been an instrumental partner in our events, and this one was no different. They sent a team of volunteers and handled all of the financial transactions taking place throughout the day.�We are so grateful for their partnership and support of Community Harvest Project," said Kristin Bafaro, Executive Director, Community Harvest Project, Inc. "Volunteering at events such as the Harvest Home Family Farm Festival is so rewarding for our staff and speaks to the core values of our institution," said GSCU President and CEO Lloyd Hamm, Jr. Proceeds from the Festival go directly toward Community Harvest Project, Inc. The non-profits mission is to build an engaged and healthier community by bringing volunteers together to grow fresh fruits and vegetables for hunger relief. The Community Harvest Project, Inc. provides consistent fresh fruits and vegetables that are distributed throughout the year to local hunger relief organizations. "Harvest Home was a great success and brought many community members together to enjoy the festivities at the Brigham Hill Community Farm," Bafaro added.
