CaptureTEXAS CITY, Texas - On Saturday, November 9, 2013 AMOCO Federal Credit Union teamed up with select partner, University of Houston-Clear Lake to hold UHCLs first shred day on their campus! For many years, AMOCO has hosted free shred days for the community at their branches with help from the secure shredding program, Iron Mountain. Partnering up with UHCL enabled AMOCO to reach out to the students and residents in the Clear Lake area to help them shred their important papers. Over 100 vehicles showed up for the three hour shred event to get rid of their vulnerable papers; and among the crowd was UHCL President, Dr. Staples. Along with providing their campus to host the event, UHCL also provided volunteers to help assist. AMOCO Culture and Communications Manager, Kevin Venable made the shred day possible by planning the event and showing AMOCOs support on Saturday. AMOCO believes its important to provide people within the community options to make them feel a sense of security; and getting into the habit of shredding important information is imperative. AMOCO Federal Credit Union is a member-owned cooperative organization. AMOCOs mission is: To Serve and Satisfy Our Members, and has done just that for more than 75 years. AMOCO strives to provide the best products and services available to its members by offering low loan rates and little to no fees.
